Thanks and love

just wanted to extend my gratitude to each of you for your dear comments on the blog. i've wanted to reply personally to each one, and checking every day to see what's new has been a delight. i'm so grateful for this space and method of communication. it's been a real revelation and honor to open such a wide window into our lives, and to be so constantly and joyfully surprised by the sense of community that continues to grow here.

because of my son's giant cabasa i'm still doing some significant healing, in fact, typing this one-handed while nursing and lying in bed - hence the lack of capitals. it will be nice to be able to walk around and sit down again, and ditch this horizontal existence. i'm in the process of working through the details of my birth story, which was indeed a life/mind altering experience in every way - probably the hardest and best thing i've ever done. i hope to relate it all on this site soon, once i can get it sorted out upstairs in my brain.

thanks again for all of your kind wishes, emails, calls, and congrats. some of you i haven't been in touch with for ages and some of you i look forward to meeting in person some day! what great side effects a birth can have!

i'm loving being a mother more than i ever would have imagined.

Jay & Charis,

I am so glad your dad told me about this "blogging" thing, it's awesome! The pictures, the words, the stories, the songs have all been incredibly touching and makes you feel like you are a part of everything that is going on. The community the now six of you have created is quite a testimony of the example your parents lived, and now which is carried on in your lives together. The journey ahead is probably one of the hardest things you will do, I know it has been for me. But also one of the most rewarding, enjoy the many phases, stages and that you are about to encounter. They will make you both laugh and cry. I will look forward to checking your site to see your families grow up. I hope that soon you will be able to enjoy motherhood both vertically & horizontally soon:) Take Care and blessings to you all!

I'm just so glad to have found you and been able to get such a window into your lives. Thank you for your transparency and willingness to open yourselves to the world.

Your birth story will take some time to develop in your heart and mind, and more to synthesize into words. Spend time on it. It's a huge experience that takes time to incorporate into your sense of self. Jay's song told the story in a way that only poetry can. Looking forward to hearing the details in prose as well.

Hugs!
Karen
